Roadmap¶
This is a user-facing summary of the upstream roadmap, which is the source of truth. Each item is described by what it will let you do. Nothing here has a date.
A richer plugin system¶
- Custom item types in the web app. Custom item types already work through the API. Next, they will get their own pages and forms in the web app. See Custom item types.
- Ingestion hooks. Run code when a file is uploaded or an item is created. For example, a hook could fill in an item's details from a file name.
- Web app components. Plugins will be able to ship their own user interface alongside a block or item type.
Data capture¶
- One approach to automatic capture. Beholder and server shares will be brought together.
- Browsing before uploading. Beholder will be able to list files in datalab without uploading them, so that you can pick the ones you want.
- Lab automation. Integration with robotic lab protocols, covering planning, running and tracking experiments.
Analysis¶
- More powerful analysis in technique blocks, such as Rietveld refinement for XRD.
- Standalone apps for some techniques, including comparisons across many items.
- Support for microscopy data.
- Structured records of how samples were made.
