Attach files to a sample¶
There are two routes for getting a file onto an item, and the second is the one that scales.
Upload from your computer¶

Pull from a configured instrument share¶
If your administrator has configured remote filesystems, you can browse instrument directories from inside datalab and attach files without downloading them first.

What happens to a file once attached¶
- Files live in their own store, keyed by ID
- The same file can be attached to more than one item
- Blocks may write derived representations alongside the original
