Getting started¶

This section is a single walkthrough, meant to be read in order. By the end of it you will have recorded a sample, attached a data file to it, plotted that file, and linked the sample to the things it was made from and the thing it became.

It should take about half an hour. You can follow along on the public demo instance if you do not yet have an account on your group's instance.

1. Before you begin

Accounts, logging in, and finding out what your particular instance can do.
2. A tour of the interface

The item table, the item page, and where everything lives.
3. Create your first sample

IDs, refcodes, and the metadata worth filling in.
4. Attach files

Upload from your machine, or pull straight off an instrument share.
5. Add a data block

Turn an uploaded file into an interactive plot.
6. Link items together

Starting materials in, cells out — building up the lineage graph.
